my tractor 1610d doesnt seem to be charging battery when i push check button on dash the bottom right square lightning bolt emblem? doesnt light up any ideas thanks

Disconnect 2 alternator wires . Connect alternator wires to AC voltmeter. Run tractor at about full throttle. Output should be 20-30 volts AC. Don't run any longer than neccesary as damage may occur. If alternator is putting out sufficient voltage , regulator is probably bad. ....
